Job summary

IMS People in Carrollton, TX is seeking a Mechanical Repair Assembler for a contract-to-hire role. You will assemble electro-mechanical assemblies per specifications, inspect complex subassemblies, and follow engineering drawings and procedures.

You will use hand and power tools, handle ESD-sensitive materials, and lift up to 50 pounds with assistance. The position requires basic computer skills and good English communication.

Responsibilities

• Read, comprehend, interpret and follow work instructions, diagrams and drawings.
• Assemble components by fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools.
• Work with varied-sized materials from heavy to small parts.
• Identify defects and report to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain logs and records; handle ESD materials and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Title: Mechanical Repair Assembler

Type of Role: Contract to Hire

Shift / Hours: 1st(6:00AM to 2:30PM)/ 2nd Shift (2:00PM to 10:30PM)

Location: Carrollton, TX

Hourly Range: $16- $18

Job Purpose: Assemble Electro-Mechanical Assemblies per specifications and inspect complex electrical/electronic subassemblies or assemblies.

Nature of Duties:

• Read, comprehend, interpret & follow basic work instructions, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, & other written instructions. Follow established procedures to accurately assemble products
• Assembles components by mechanically fastening parts and subassemblies
• Mechanical type assembly using hand tools and power tools
• Working with various sized materials from heavy parts to small intricate parts
• Identify product defects and report on to appropriate personnel
• Keep accurate records/logs etc.
• Handling of ESD sensitive materials and equipment
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 0 – 1 years experience, training is provided
• A strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with hand tools such as ratchets, wrenches, battery and pneumatic operated tools.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, safely lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance if required).
• Basic computer skills – email, work instructions.
• Attention to detail.
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Physical Demands: Required to sit and/or stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment; talk and hear in person; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
