Qualifications

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Competence with hand tools and basic electronics assembly tools (e.g., torque wrenches, ESD systems).
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical rework skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to meet production and attendance expectations.
  • ITAR: Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).

Responsibilities

  • Apply mechanical knowledge to complete both routine and complex assembly tasks.
  • Use power and hand tools to build and repair electro-mechanical components.
  • Follow moderate to complex drawings and work instructions for sub and high-level builds.
  • Perform troubleshooting on electro-mechanical systems, collaborating with internal teams for root cause and corrective action.
  • Perform soldering, crimping, wiring, and cable assembly according to standards.
  • Validate product performance and quality using specialized test equipment.
  • Support a continuous improvement culture through Lean initiatives.
  • Build 1st article assemblies to IPC standards and best practices.
  • Assist in peer training and skill development for junior assemblers.

Mechanical Assembler Location: Port Orange, FL 32128 Industry: Aerospace / Manufacturing Salary: $19-22/hr Employment Type: Temporary, 5 Months with potential to extend or convert Schedule: Monday Thursday, 7:00am 4:30pm; Friday, 7:00am 3:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and maintain IPC certifications (J-STD-001 and 620)
  • Assist in peer training and skill development for junior assemblers
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and manual work
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs unassisted and occasionally up to 100lbs with assistance
  • Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate tools and components
  • Visual acuity for close work, color recognition, and depth perception
  • May work around electrical components, hazardous materials, and varying noise levels
  • Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional exposure to warehouse settings
