Job summary

Nammo Defense Systems Inc. in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our production team building shoulder-fired systems and energetic material solutions. You will operate automatic and manual equipment, read blueprints, and assemble parts with high precision to meet exact specifications.

This full-time role features a Monday–Thursday 10-hour-day schedule, Fridays off, and competitive benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing, assembly, and packaging experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain/maintain BATF approval to work with products.

Responsibilities

• Place parts in precise relation with accuracy.
• Operate automatic and manual processing equipment.
• Use hand and power tools, jigs and fixtures.
• Work at different workstations as production needs require.
• Maintain clean and safe work area; general housekeeping.
• Perform equipment maintenance as required.
• Recognize and report operational variances.

Mechanical Assembler

Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

Primary Responsibilities of a Mechanical Assembler

• Places parts in specific relationship to each other with extreme accuracy
• Operates and tends automatic and manual processing equipment
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, jigs and fixtures
• Works at different workstations as production needs require
• Performs general daily housekeeping and cleaning of equipment and area to ensure a safe working condition for all employees
• Performs general maintenance of equipment as required
• Ability to recognize and report all operational variances as trained

Experience Required to be a Mechanical Assembler

• High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required
• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, and packaging preferred
• Ability to obtain/maintain BATF approval to work with our products

Required Skills as a Mechanical Assembler

• Ability to accurately read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to be at work on time and on a consistent basis
• Excellent team interaction and communication is a priority for this role
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including the movement of materials weighing 5-50 lbs
• Ability to obtain BATF approval to engage in certain explosive operations

Nice to have:

• Hand painting and capable of being respirator certified
