Job summary

PacSci EMC is hiring a full-time Mechanical Assembler in Hollister, CA. The role involves assembling inert and energetic materials, operating analytical balances, and performing related assembly tasks in explosive handling areas.

Work is performed under direct supervision with on-the-job training. Outdoor overtime and safety protocol adherence are expected, and flexibility for overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• U.S. government contract requirements mean U.S. citizenship or equivalent status is required.

Responsibilities

• Work under direct supervision.
• Weigh and press inert & energetic materials.
• Set up and use analytical balance.
• Perform inert assembly operations.
• Minor cabling, potting, tinning and assembly work.
• Set up and use powder press for pressing operation.
• Some basic soldering experience may be required.
• Performs various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies.
• Uses drawings and instructions to assemble, modify, re-work or re-assemble units.
• Install sub-assemblies.
• Handle explosive devices safely in controlled areas.
• Attend offsite training to maintain certifications (e.g., JSTD).
• Overtime on Fridays and Saturdays as needed.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities

• Work under direct supervision.
• Weigh and press inert & energetic materials.
• Set up and use analytical balance.
• Perform inert assembly operations.
• Minor cabling, potting, tinning and assembly work.
• Set up and use powder press for pressing operation.
• Some minor set-up capability for specific equipment.
• May have some basic soldering experience.
• Performs various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies.
• Uses visual aids, drawings and verbal and written instruction to assemble, modify, re-work or re-assemble units. Receives detailed instruction on new assignments.
• Install sub-assemblies.
• Must display proficient dexterity to ensure safe handling of explosive devices.
• All work is performed in explosive handling areas.
• If required, attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements. (i.e. JSTD)
• OT is required for Friday and Saturday as needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

• Must have the ability to understand and speak English, as well as read and write in English.
• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements applicable to this position, only U.S. citizens are eligible for employment in this role.

Bonus or Equity

Pay Range

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 16.92-31.44
