Job summary

Godfrey & Wing, a global leader in vacuum impregnation technology, seeks a Mechanical Assembler III to build complex mechanical systems from engineering drawings. You will own builds, troubleshoot, and support installations with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical assembly, fabrication, or related technical work.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints, P&IDs, and schematics.
• Welding capability, including overhead lifting.
• Experience with piping, pumps, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain safety.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working in varied environments.
• Proficient with forklifts, scissors lifts, and cranes.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex mechanical systems and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Support the mechanical assembly function during field installations and customer site support.
• Fabricate and install piping, valves, tanks, pumps, and structural supports.
• Perform MIG/TIG welding and grinding as necessary to support system fabrication.
• Interpret and troubleshoot mechanical systems, resolving build issues independently.
• Coordinate with electrical and controls teams to ensure complete mechanical integration.
• Conduct functional testing and perform final quality inspections.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocol.

The Mechanical Assembler III is an advanced-level technician responsible for assembling complex mechanical systems and subassemblies. This role requires the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, take ownership of complete builds, troubleshoot mechanical systems, and support installations with minimal supervision. The Mechanical Assembler III works independently, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and ensures systems meet quality and safety standards.

• Experienced in pipe fitting, pumps, pneumatic systems, and hydraulics
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and positive attitude
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and managing deadlines
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, working in hot/cold environments, and carrying tools up/down ladders
