Job summary

Apache Corporation in Pecos, TX, seeks a Senior Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain complex mechanical systems and equipment across compressors, dehydration units, incinerators, and related facilities. Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain compressors, glycol dehydration units, incinerator, tanks, pumps, and associated equipment.
  • Perform daily checks: monitor temperatures, pressures, flow rates; inspect for leaks; record data.
  • Ensure safety practices, follow regulations, and maintain environmental standards.
  • Order, stock, and label spare parts; coordinate with vendors and contractors.
  • Train and guide junior mechanics; ensure quality control and compliance.

Job description

A Senior Mechanic is a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various mechanical systems and equipment. They often oversee and guide junior mechanics, providing technical expertise and guidance. They may also be involved in training, quality control, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

  • Responsible for Daily Operation and Maintenance of compressors, glycol dehydration unit, B-Tex unit, incinerator, slop tanks, sumps, transfer pumps, “control air” air compressors and all equipment associated with compressor facility.
  • Perform Daily checks, but not limited too;
  • Glycol PH and adjust accordingly.
  • Glycol pumps flow rate and pressures.
  • Temperatures on compressor valves, pressure readings and flow rates.
  • Check for proper operation of all sumps and dump valves.
  • Check all fluid levels and operation of lubricators.
  • Check air compressors, filters, oil levels, belts, pressures and bleed lines.
  • Check for leaks, loose bolts, vibration or unusual noises by making visual inspection at least three times per day on all equipment.
  • Accurately record all above information and any performed maintenance.
  • Become certified on CO2 line, DIG TESS, location, Right of Way, signage, valve operation etc.
  • Attend all DIG TESS notifications, reply accordingly and record
  • Perform oil changes on all equipment in a timely manor and record.
  • Make notifications when problems are suspected.
  • Order, stock and label spare equipment needed to keep facility in operation, in an orderly fashion.
  • Keep facility clean and neat
  • Operate in a Safe and environmentally sound manner.
  • Stay in contact with vendors for equipment, oils, chemicals and filters for updated revisions and recommendations

    • Follow safe practices with regard to oil field electrical installation.

    • Keep track of all contractors, venders and company people when inside of facility.
Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience
