Compass Group USA is seeking a full-time MECHANIC - NE to service and repair vending machines and equipment in a Duval County/Jacksonville educational setting. The role reports to Chartwells K-12 and focuses on maintaining and installing equipment in a school environment.

The candidate will need prior experience with commercial refrigeration, cooking and food service equipment, EPA 608 certification, and a valid Non-CDL Class C license.

Competenze

• Must hold EPA Section 608 certification (Universal preferred) for refrigerant handling.
• Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license with clean MVR.
• Experience servicing commercial refrigeration, cooking and food service equipment.
• Diagnose/repair walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, ovens, fryers and steamers.

• Responds to dispatch calls for machine repairs and notes customer concerns.
• Tests machine operation after repair and replaces worn parts as needed.

• We are hiring immediately for a full time MECHANIC - NE position.
• Location: Duval County Public Schools - 2924 Knights Lane, East Building 5, Jacksonville, FL 32216. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full time schedule; Monday through Friday, hours may vary. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: Prior experience servicing commercial refrigeration, cooking, and food service equipment and experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial equipment.
  • Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and fix commercial cooking, holding, warewashing, and refrigeration equipment—including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, ovens, fryers, and steamers.
  • Refrigerant Handling: Recover, evacuate, and charge refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • EPA Certification: Valid EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred) for safe refrigerant handling.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record to operate a company service vehicle. Non-CDL Class C driver's license.
• Fixed Pay Rate: $29.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Inspects, repairs, maintains and assists in the installation of vendingmachines and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides customers one-on-one attention to detail, addressing specific client concerns.
• Responds to dispatch calls for machine repairs.
• Calls on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; listens to and resolves service complaints.
• Visually inspects and listens to machines to determine causes of malfunctions; dismantles machines to gainaccess to problem areas.
• Inspects parts to detect wear, misalignment or other mechanical problems; removes and replaces worn or defectiveparts; repairs broken parts; realigns and adjusts components; tests machine operation following repair.
• Reviews inventory and orders parts; ships and receives machines; maintains equipment inventory.
• Prepares machines for installation at accounts; assists in installations and removals.
• Sets up and operates mechanical equipment and small hand tools (e.g., drills, grinders welding torches) formachine repair.
• Maintains safe, clean work environment; performs job safely.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Type I refrigeration certification & Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license.
