Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical duties on equipment as instructed, in accordance with QA, health/safety and OSHA requirements and policies.
• Disassemble, assemble and test equipment at the direction of the Workshop Manager.
• Perform fabrication of lightweight apparatus and/or structures used in the maintenance of equipment.
• Interface with project management, engineers, technical personnel and other staff as needed to complete projects.
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance activities as required.
• Provide any additional support where needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of experience with primary responsibility for refurbishment, reconditioning and spare parts in a job shop environment.
• Knowledge of disassembly, assembly, machining and fabrication methods including MIG, SMAW & TIG welding practices.
• Knowledge of overhead crane, lift trucks and maintenance including hoisting and rigging techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic & piping systems.
• Knowledge in the use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read prints and drawings.
• Ability to follow step-by-step procedures with accuracy.
• Candidate must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Education Requirements: Vocational or High School; Specialized Technical Training; or combination of training and experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Remain in a standing or walking position for extended periods of time.
• Stoop, kneel and bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Schedule

• Full-Time, 8-hour shift.
• Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, with 30 minutes for lunch.
