Job summary

Nestlé USA is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic 1 to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently on 2nd or 3rd shift. Youll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support equipment improvements on the plant floor.

The role requires 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and ability to work off-shifts. Nestlé offers a quarterly bonus structure and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of hands‑on maintenance or mechanical experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and understand English for safety procedures, work instructions, and documenting maintenance activities clearly.
• Ability to work off‑shifts, weekends, overtime, and extended shifts as needed.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in loud, variable-temperature environments.
• Preferred: Technical degree or coursework in industrial maintenance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical equipment to support safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain and repair mechanical and power transfer systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, drive, steam, plumbing, and piping systems.
• Use a computerized maintenance system to complete work orders and document repairs.
• Read and update basic mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Support equipment upgrades, line improvements, and maintenance‑related projects.
• Assist with welding and basic fabrication as needed (MIG, TIG, Stick).
• Coach operators on basic equipment adjustments and changeovers.
• Identify and address safety, quality, and reliability issues proactively.
• Follow standard operating procedures and complete documentation accurately.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Maintenance Mechanic 1, you’ll help keep our production equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You’ll learn alongside experienced teammates while performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting equipment improvements that keep operations moving. Your work directly supports safety, quality, and continuous improvement on the plant floor.

PAY

• Pay: $28.00/hr
• Shift Differential:
  • 2nd shift; $0.75/hr
  • 3rd shift; $1.25/hr

SHIFT / SCHEDULE DETAILS

• Shift:
  • 2nd shift: 2:00PM to 10:00PM
  • 3rd shift: 10:00PM to 6:30AM
• Schedule: Monday - Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIREMENTS

• 1 – 2 years of hands‑on maintenance or mechanical experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and understand English for safety procedures, work instructions, and documenting maintenance activities clearly
• Ability to work off‑shifts, weekends, overtime, and extended shifts as needed.
• Physical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation): Able to lift up to 50 lbs, move throughout your shift, varying temperatures, and work safely in loud areas and confined spaces
• Preferred: Technical degree or coursework in industrial maintenance, electromechanical maintenance, or a related field

SKILLS

• Basic mechanical knowledge (hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drive systems)
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
• Basic welding and fabrication skills
• Strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
• Clear communication and reliable follow‑through

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
