Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to support the operation and maintenance of the City of Key West Wastewater treatment plant and collection facilities. The role is based in Key West, FL, and requires regular travel to client sites with a valid driver's license.

• Perform plumbing, pipefitting, welding, cutting, and fabrication activities as required.
• Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

The Maintenance Mechanic supports the operation and maintenance of the City of Key West Wastewater treatment plant and collection facilities through preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Based in Key West, FL, the role ensures reliable equipment performance, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted service delivery to the community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, machinery, buildings, and treatment plant equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and rotating equipment.
• Replace bearings, seals, packing, and other mechanical components.
• Install and commission new equipment and assist with system upgrades.
• Perform plumbing, pipefitting, welding, cutting, and fabrication activities as required.
• Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Support facility housekeeping, painting, and general maintenance activities.
• Follow all Jacobs and client safety requirements.

As an essential function of the position and as a business necessity, this role requires regular travel by motor vehicle to client sites, project locations, and other work-related destinations in connection with the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities. Accordingly, a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. The OMFS business uses Telematics & Dash Cameras with our fleet of vehicles and all new hires will require a Telematics acknowledgement to be signed.

The base salary range for this position is $48,700.00 to $56,160.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
