Job summary

HKA Enterprises, Inc. is hiring for an entry-level maintenance role in Farmington, NM. You will learn maintenance processes under a Mechanic and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wastewater treatment plants and related facility equipment.

You will inspect vehicles, test alarms, HVAC, pumps, engines, generators, and replace filters while maintaining clear records. You will travel between work locations, follow instructions, and work under close supervision to develop hands-on

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• New Mexico Level I Water/Waste Water Certification required.
• 12 months experience with a State approved Level I Water/Waste Water certification.

Responsibilities

• Report to supervisors, a Project Director, and a Project Manager.
• Learn processes and procedures under the direction of a Mechanic.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wastewater treatment plants and related facility equipment.
• Read and record information in Maintenance Connection, work orders, and mechanical information sheets.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles, including fluid levels, belts, and tires.
• Perform routine outside pump station inspections.
• Test auxiliary equipment, including alarms, HVAC, pumps, engines, and generators.
• Lubricate equipment and replace filters.
• Assist in keeping maintenance records.
• Communicate effectively about recommended maintenance and repair procedures.
• Follow written and oral instructions and carry out oral and written directions.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with people contacted during the course of work.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education

Job Summary

You will learn maintenance processes under the direction of a Mechanic and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wastewater treatment plants and related facility equipment. You will inspect vehicles, equipment, and outside pump stations; test auxiliary equipment such as alarms, HVAC, pumps, engines, and generators; and lubricate equipment and replace filters. You will read and record maintenance information, follow written and oral instructions, and travel between work locations while working under close supervision.

PAY: $23.64/hr - $24.35/hr DOE LOCATION: Farmington, NM WORK TYPE: Onsite SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or possession of a GED Certificate.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License.
• Must have a New Mexico Level I Water or Waste Water Certification.
• 12 months experience with a State approved level 1 Water or Waste Water certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic familiarity with the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Familiarity with the operating principles of valves, pumps, and motors.
• Familiarity with the principles and methods of bacteriological and chemical sewage analyses.
• Familiarity with the effects and problems of industrial waste in water/wastewater treatment processes.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.
• Knowledge of computer software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and data management systems.
• Ability to operate plant PLC and SCADA systems.

Work Environment

This onsite role requires daily and punctual attendance in the office, job site, or off-site locations. You must be available on an on-call basis for emergencies and travel between work locations. The work includes routine inspections and maintenance around vehicles, pump stations, alarms, HVAC, pumps, engines, and generators, and requires safe work practices.
