McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic II to perform maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration systems, diagnose diesel engines, and conduct alignments and diagnostics. You will work independently and in teams, with a focus on safety and accuracy, under supervision as needed.
The role requires a high school diploma, diesel/refrigeration training, and ASE PMI certifications. A Class C license is required; Class A is preferred. On-call rotation and road calls are part of the schedule.
Pay rate: $$28.00 to $30.00 DOE per hour, Plus Shift premium .40 per hour.
Shift: Sunday to Thursday 2:30PM Start Time.
Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration.
Perform simple and complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
Must be able to perform the following repairs without supervision:
Diagnose, remove, repair, replace or rebuild:
clutcheswater pumpstirestractor suspensionbody repairsrear differentialsdrive linestransmissionswheel sealsbrake systems
Diagnose and tune up or make repairs on diesel engines.
Perform front wheel alignments.
Perform axle alignments on trailers.
Troubleshoot cooling systems.
Conduct diagnostic tests.
Cut or weld using cutting torch and welding machine.
Read, understand and use service bulletins and technical manuals.
Maintain shop tools.
Complete all paper work and computer input.
Comply effectively with company work and safety rules.
Effectively communicate both written and orally with supervisor and peers.
Follow directions.
Work independently and in a team environment.
Be trained and certified to operate any required equipment within 30 days after hire.
Comply with company attendance policy.
Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the job. Must be available for shop on-call rotation, and able to do road calls using a company vehicle.
This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
