Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is a national infrastructure construction company. The Mechanic II role focuses on maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles to support the Construction team.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, performing road tests, ordering parts, maintaining records, and ensuring safety and cleanliness of tool areas. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics.
• Familiarity with safety guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to perform tune-ups, hydraulic brake jobs, and basic wiring.
• Basic diesel and drive train experience.
• Knowledge of minor heavy equipment repairs.
• 1+ years of experience.
• DOT Certified Flagger preferred.
• CDL Class A license desirable.

• Inspect and repair company equipment, such as pickup trucks, trailers, bucket trucks, diggers, and forklift.
• Perform road tests and operational checks of vehicles and equipment to ensure quality of repairs and service.
• Place orders for required parts, materials, and supplies, as required.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports.
• Monitor prioritized projects, activities, and assignments to ensure completion of deadlines.
• Maintain tools, supplies, and workstations in a clean, safe and presentable manner.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Responsibilities

The Mechanic II is responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles. This position supports the Construction team and works with personnel within the department.

In addition, you will:

• Inspect and repair company equipment, such as pickup trucks, trailers, bucket trucks, diggers, and forklift
