The Mechanic II reports to the Maintenance Manager. The Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment by conducting quality control analysis to evaluate performance while ensuring that all efforts comply with the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. The Mechanic II must possess knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
This position operates under flexible parameters. The primary goal is to achieve excellence in all facets of the role. Providing the highest quality product safely, effectively, and efficiently reduces accidents and errors, increasing profits.
Direct contact with Maintenance Manager and operations employees, primarily face-to-face.
Exposed to weather, noise, fumes, and dirt. Safety gear such as shoes, hearing protection, respirators, and face shields is mandatory. No travel required. Workload may be unpredictable with potential for extra hours, including weekends and holidays.
Stand for up to 12 hours, lift up to 100 pounds, crouch, bend, reach, twist, walk on uneven ground, handle tools, communicate verbally, and perform detailed visual tasks. Must work independently with attention to detail.
High School diploma or GED required. Minimum 5 years of experience assisting skilled trades in heavy equipment repair. Candidates with an Associate's degree in Heavy Duty Truck or Heavy Equipment Repair plus 2 years relevant experience may be considered. Valid driver's license required.
