Job summary

Tapestry, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Mechanic II to support the DC by maintaining the conveyor system and related equipment.

The role involves electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, welding, and forklift repair, plus equipment installation and reporting. The right candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent, 2+ years’ experience with conveyors, lift trucks, HVAC, and building systems, strong electrical and mechanical abilities, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience maintaining conveyors, lift trucks, building apparatus, HVAC equipment, mechanical and plumbing.
  • Certification in 120V-277V electrical installation, 3 phase electrical motor control troubleshooting, and/or forklift truck maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain conveyor system and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Set up and maintain receiving, picking and shipping equipment to ensure DC operations run smoothly.
  • Service facility equipment, including the conveyor system, with emphasis on preventive maintenance and repair.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on order pickers, forklift trucks and pallet jacks (battery changes).
  • Perform office maintenance tasks including furniture reconfiguration and basic electrical, plumbing and mechanical work.
  • Demonstrate ability in electrical work and/or forklift maintenance as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Mechanic II
Thursdays 12am - 6pm, Friday - Sunday 6am - 6pm ET
Jacksonville FL, onsite
Purpose of Role

This position will support the DC by performing maintenance work on the conveyor system, building and/or related equipment. Maintenance involves, but is not limited to, the following trades: electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, welding / metal fabrication, painting and forklift repair. Position also involves equipment installation and repair, generation of reports, inventory of maintenance/facility parts.

  • Maintain conveyor system and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Set up and maintain all receiving, picking and shipping equipment to ensure that DC operations are running smoothly at all times.
  • Service facility equipment, to include the conveyor system, with emphasis on preventive maintenance and repair.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs on all order pickers, forklift trucks and pallet jacks (including battery charging and change outs).
  • Perform all office maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, furniture reconfiguration and movement, electrical, plumbing and mechanical work.
  • Must have certification(s) or be able to demonstrate ability in 120V-277V electrical installation, 3 phase electrical motor control troubleshooting, and/or forklift truck, order picker, and pallet jack maintenance and repair.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
An accomplished individual will possess...
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience maintaining equipment such as conveyors, lift trucks, building apparatus, HVAC equipment, mechanical and plumbing
  • Strong electrical and mechanical abilities

  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Regularly to lift up to 20 lbs throughout the shift and up to 50 lbs occasionally
