Job summary

RelaDyne is seeking a Diesel Technician in California to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel or heavy-duty vehicles. You will inspect, service, and repair engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and fuel equipment while maintaining high workmanship standards.

The role requires 2–4 years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong documentation skills. Safety policies, DOT/OSHA compliance, and ongoing training are integral parts of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to four years of experience maintaining and repairing diesel or heavy-duty vehicles.
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Ability to diagnose and complete intermediate-level repairs with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to document maintenance activities accurately.
• Experience with fuel trucks or petroleum equipment is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, and fluid services.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify maintenance and safety concerns.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs of fuel systems and pumps (training provided).
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Work alongside senior mechanics on complex diagnostics and major repairs.
• Accurately complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports.
• Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Respond to roadside service calls as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current on equipment and industry best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support fleet operations.
