Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation in North Carolina is seeking a Mechanic I to perform basic repairs, calibration, and maintenance on equipment. The role leads the team in diagnostics and repairs and guides assemblers to deepen troubleshooting knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of hydraulics/electrical/diesel experience, strong math and mechanical aptitude, and be willing to work overtime as needed in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of basic experience with hydraulics, electrical, gas and diesel systems.
  • Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business and production demands.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Perform completion of activity-based repairs and service requirements as delineated on sales change orders.
  • Install various equipment accessories (decals, mud flaps, cameras, lights).
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Must be able to input findings using an iPad or laptop guided by user-friendly programs.
  • Aid in maintaining inventory accuracy through data entry.
  • Must be able to drive and use a forklift.
