Tufts Medicine seeks a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of maintenance, preventative maintenance, inspection, repair and construction duties across hospital buildings and grounds.
You will work with trades including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC, following safety rules and maintaining required records. High school diploma and 1 year building maintenance are required; valid driver’s license also required.
This role focuses on activities related to the support services functions, such as dietary and food services, environmental services, general facilities, repair and maintenance, parking,sterilizationand transportation to ensure all required support activities are completedin a timely mannerand meet the organization’s quality standards and expectations.In addition, this role focuses on performing the following General Facilities, Repair & Maintenance duties:Operates,monitorsandmaintains, troubleshoots,repairsand replaces facilities mechanical components and systems such as electrical equipment, HVAC (heating,ventilationand air conditioning) and plumbing.A technical role thataccomplisheswork through a specialized knowledge or skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, apprenticeship (craft, skilled and semi-skilled), and experience.An experienced level role that requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requires vocational or technical education.Works under moderate supervision, problems are typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures and communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.
Performs a variety of general maintenance, preventative maintenance, inspection, servicing, repair, overhaul and construction duties in all hospital buildings and grounds areas.Carries out tasks within capabilities involving a variety of maintenance crafts such as sheet metal, plumbing and pipe fitting, carpentry, tile setting, painting, electrical, roof maintenance,etc.Keeps supervisor informed of activities, needs and problems.Assumes responsibility for the control and security of the hospital lock and key system.
