Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a full-time Equipment Mechanic to join a dedicated concrete paving crew in Texas. You will diagnose issues, inspect machinery, and perform repairs to ensure reliable operation.

Responsibilities include testing, installing, and tuning equipment, with focus on safety and correct system controls. Fluency in English and legal work status in the United States are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years mechanic experience or training.
• Must read and speak fluent English.
• Experience with slipform pavers, concrete places, and cure/texture machines; G&Z and Gomaco experience a plus.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided.

• Assembles, sets up, adjusts, maintains and repairs all types of construction equipment - Inspects and diagnoses machinery to determine need for and cost of repairs
• Tests, installs new or repaired unit back into equipments
• Performs minor tune ups to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the equipments
• Understand system controls, operation, and configurations

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two+ years related mechanic experience and/or training
• Mechanic experience slipform pavers, concrete places, and cure/texture machines - Experience with Gunner & Zimmerman (G&Z) and Gomaco are a huge plus
• Mechanical, welding, and electrical experience preferred - For safety reasons, it is imperative that the employee be able to read and speak fluent English
