Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries in Quincy, California, is seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our sawmill division. Perform preventative and routine maintenance on gas and propane forklifts, loaders, and other equipment to keep production running smoothly.

We offer a $1,500 hiring bonus, earn $34.75 per hour, and provide low-cost health benefits, a 401(k) with company match, retirement contributions, paid vacation and 10 holidays, and opportunities for growth through internal promotion.

Qualifications

• Experience with gasoline and diesel engines; hydraulics and electrical systems preferred.
• Fabrication and metal work experience preferred.
• Proven prior experience working on heavy equipment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on gas and propane forklifts, loaders, and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical defects.
• Conduct safety inspections and maintain maintenance records.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Occasional heavy lifting; work in hot/cold environments.
• Work may include various shifts with overtime, weekends and holidays.

About The Position

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on both gas and propane forklifts, loaders, and other various equipment


• Recognize, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical defects


• Conduct safety inspections of equipment and maintain maintenance records


• Perform duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations


• There is occasional heavy lifting and working in both hot and cold environments


• Work may consist of various shifts, with overtime, weekend, and holiday work during busy production times

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of both gasoline and diesel engines, equipment hydraulics, and electrical systems preferred


• Preference given to applicants with fabrication and metal work experience


• Proven prior experience working on various machines including the above-mentioned equipment


• All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
