Job summary

The Olympic Club in San Francisco seeks a full-time Mechanic (Golf Course Equipment) to inspect, diagnose and repair equipment used on our renowned golf courses. You will maintain mowing equipment, ensure safety and reliability, and document work performed in a fast-paced club environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years mechanical experience with gasoline, diesel, and electric powered equipment, strong reading and communication skills in English, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

Mechanic (Golf Course Equipment)

Full Time San Francisco, CA, US

Salary Range: $38.88 To $38.88 Hourly

The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks a full-time Mechanic (Golf Course Equipment). The Mechanic will work in our Golf Maintenance Department, who maintain our world-renowned golf courses.

This is a Local 1877 union position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects or failures on various pieces of golf course equipment.
• Repair and adjust cutting units on light and heavy-duty mowers.
• Ensure equipment is safe for daily use.
• Comply with OSHA safety standards and practices.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager or other management of The Club.
• Prior mechanical experience preferred.
• 3-5 years mechanic experience on gasoline, diesel, and electric powered equipment, using standard mechanical repair tools
• Ability to lift and move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and write in the English language.
• Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks without direct supervision.
• Ability to read and analyze schematics, service manuals and other documents.
• Must interact positively with coworkers, management and others on the Olympic Club team.
• Ability to critically think and make independent decisions based upon sound judgment.
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must be committed to learning and the continual process of improvement.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where excellent results are expected.
• Attention to detail, accuracy of the task completed, and timeliness are a must.
