Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; specialized diesel equipment training desirable.
• Three years of automotive repair experience, plus one year on skilled heavy equipment service.
• ASE certification highly desirable; Master ASE within two years of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose/repair mechanical defects on a variety of city vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect and service generators, fire equipment, and related systems; perform brake repairs as needed.
• Assist with engine tune-ups, overhauls, and repairs of drivetrain, hydraulic, electrical, suspension, and air systems.
