Connolly's Do It Best is seeking a Mechanic for our Southgate, IN location. The role involves maintaining and repairing warehouse equipment, small engines, and lawn care tools, with emphasis on safety and accurate record-keeping.

The position requires a high school diploma, 6 months of warehouse maintenance experience, and readiness to work 20–25 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends. A valid license and good communication complete the profile.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in warehouse maintenance and vehicle background.
• Basic understanding of electronics, hydraulics, brakes, welding, and general maintenance may be required.
• Basic knowledge of lawn mower repair, small engine service, general maintenance and equipment troubleshooting required.
• Proficiency in operating a pallet jack, forklift, and rolling truck stock.
• Physical fitness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to temperature variations and inclement weather.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to accommodate the needs of the business.
• Good communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, dispatchers, and team members effectively.
• Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean and safe work area, ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition.
• Follows instructions and guidelines provided by direct supervisor and adheres to established protocols and processes.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks and inspections as directed to avoid equipment issues.
• Performs basic repairs and service on warehouse equipment, small engines, lawn mowers and related equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
• Maintains neat and orderly records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Safely maintains and cares for tools and equipment, conducting daily inspections.
• Monitors, maintains, and updates warehouse equipment parts inventory as needed.
• Assists with troubleshooting and minor maintenance issues throughout the store/yard as needed.
• Provides training to employees in warehouse equipment repair as required.
