Job summary

KLX Energy Services is seeking a Mechanic for our Cheyenne, WY location. The role supports operations with inspection, repair, and maintenance of equipment in a fast-paced field and shop environment.

Qualified candidates will have diesel/hydraulic/electrical troubleshooting skills and a valid driver’s license. The position offers company housing and a company vehicle with a 14/7 rotation and 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Education: Less than High School required.
• Experience: 0–2 years required; 2–4 years preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment; performs scheduled maintenance repairs.
• Inspects, repairs, maintains, and makes recommendations/modifications to various equipment; diagnoses diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and chassis.
• Troubleshoots on conventional and specialized equipment.
• Reads and interprets manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
• May perform gas and arc welding in routine maintenance.
• Assists in training and mentoring maintenance technician trainees; orients operators in maintenance procedures.

We are currently seeking a Mechanic for our Cheyenne, WY location.

This position offers a 14/7 Rotation, 12hr shifts, Company Housing & Company Vehicle.

Purpose

Performs physical tasks in the shop, warehouse, or field in support of operations including, but not limited to: inspection, repairs and maintenance of equipment, troubleshooting, interpretation of equipment manuals, and training/mentoring.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment; reviews equipment status with operational personnel and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of trucks and equipment.
• Inspects, repairs, maintains, and makes recommendations and performs modifications to functional parts of a variety of equipment and machinery. Diagnoses maintenance requirements on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, differentials, electrical circuits, AC power plant, hydraulic systems, and chassis through diagnostic aids, inspections, and interpretation of equipment reports with assistance. Disassembles, overhauls, and replaces worn parts on equipment as required.
• Trouble shoots on conventional and specialized equipment and control with assistance
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• May perform gas and arc welding as required in routine maintenance.
• Assists in training and mentoring maintenance technician trainees; orients operators in maintenance procedures and field maintenance for specialized equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Less than High School Education
• Work Experience: 0-2 years

Related Experience

• Mechanical skills should include, but are not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of trucks, cranes and related equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent
• Work Experience: 2-4 years

Related Experience

• Experience with Hydraulics & Electrical Troubleshooting
• Class A CDL
• Current HSE certifications
