Job summary

Dashlight Solutions is seeking an Automotive ADAS Calibration Technician in Howell Township, NJ to join a fast-growing niche of the auto repair industry. You’ll calibrate ADAS systems, run vehicle diagnostics, and document repairs with OEM and aftermarket tools.

The role emphasizes a routine schedule with opportunities for in-house and mobile calibrations, plus ongoing training and professional development. A valid license and mobility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred.
• 1–2 years in automotive repair or body shop preferred.
• Strong knowledge of body repair procedures, materials, and labor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle scanning and diagnostics with OEM/aftermarket tools.
• Conduct DVOM electrical troubleshooting and analyze wiring diagrams.
• Place calibration targets and perform static/dynamic ADAS calibrations (in-house and mobile).
• Complete pre/post scanning and document repairs accurately.
• Read wiring schematics and troubleshoot using diagnostic trees.
• Drive test vehicles to verify calibration results and safety.

Job candidates need to be willing to learn and grow within the future technology of the automotive industry, specifically in regards to the increased need for the ADAS calibration on vehicles. Qualified candidates should should possess knowledge and experience in the following areas :

• Vehicle scanning and diagnostics
• OEM and Aftermarket scan tools
• DVOM for electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Be able to read and understand wiring schematics and diagnostic trouble trees
• Ability to read and understand using a tape measure for target and calibration stand placement
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Windows and Google Documents
• Valid and clean drivers license
• Static / Dynamic Calibrations in house and mobile

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in automotive repair, business management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 within the automotive repair or body shop industry preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of automotive body repair procedures, materials, and labor requirements.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple estimates and repairs simultaneously.
• Proficiency in computer programs that diagnose automotive problems
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in both paperwork and repair analysis.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and inspect vehicles for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more unassisted.
• Comfortable working in a body shop environment, which may involve exposure to loud noises, dust, and chemicals.
