Job summary

Rain for Rent in Pennsylvania is seeking a hands-on Field Equipment Technician to perform basic inspections, service pumps, grease bearings, and support on-call rotations.

You will read diagrams, stock parts, operate hand and power tools, and ensure safety while handling pipes, fittings, and hoses.

This role requires a flexible schedule, strong teamwork, and a focus on customer service as part of our veteran-owned, veteran-supporting employer.

Qualifications

• Must be motivated, team player, safety oriented with customer service orientation.
• Able to read maps/plans and use basic measuring tools.
• Able to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic inspections while learning SOPs.
• Service pumps including oil changes and filter changes.
• Grease bearings in pumps and wheel bearings.
• Read, comprehend and apply information from parts diagrams and manuals.
• Inspect, test pumps to required specifications.
• Receive, inspect and stock parts such as oil filters, air filters, pumps, hoses.
• Complete paperwork as required by management.
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to perform basic inspections while learning RFR sop’s
• Ability to perform engine services as far as oil changes and filter changes including fuel filters
• Ability to properly grease bearings as in pump bearings and wheel bearings
• Understand the safe operation of portable cordless, electric, and pneumatic tools
• Understand the safe operation of shop stationary power tools
• Knowledge of pipe fittings and flanges as pertained to fitting pumps for customers.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications.
• Receive, inspect and stock needed products, including oil filters, air filters, pump, hoses, and tools.
• Read, comprehend, and apply information from parts diagrams, owner’s and instruction manuals.
• Inspect, examine, and test pumps using appropriate specifications
• Complete paperwork/electronic documents as required by management.
• Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Other job competencies required to be successful in this position that are not listed elsewhere include:

• Able to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Able to use a calculator, cellular telephone, and tape measure/ruler.
• Able to read a map, plan routes, and calculate distances.
