Herc Rentals in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Mechanic B to support fleet maintenance, preventive and corrective work, and mentor junior technicians. The role keeps equipment on the rental revenue line and requires safe, procedure-driven work.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, electrical tasks, and service on aerial and heavy equipment using computerized tools and OEM guidelines. A solid mechanic foundation and schematic reading ability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read schematics and diagnose complex mechanical issues.
• Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems is preferred.
• Willingness to mentor Mechanic C technicians and follow procedures.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventative maintenance on all Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Diagnose and repair cooling systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
• Use computerized tools to trace faults and update repair logs.
• Enter and review work orders, order parts, and assist with estimates.
• Mentor Mechanic C technicians and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Inspect aerial equipment and perform annual inspections.
