Position Summary:
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in order to maintain serviceability and reliability of equipment.
- Performs mechanical repairs, service, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on facility and production systems.
- Maintains, repairs and installs hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Efficiently completes all set-ups of equipment.
- Reads and follows blueprints and schematic drawings
- Keeps lines operating properly during the course of production runs.
- Supports new line and equipment installations, equipment upgrades, and other major projects. Installs new facility equipment from blueprints, sketches, etc.
- Repairs change parts as prescribed.
- Looks for opportunities to improve operations.
- Researches parts/supplies appropriateness for applications.
- Ensures that areas are secure prior to evacuation.
- Responsible and accountable for the daily execution of schedule. Continually reviews and coordinates the status of current and pending work.
- Ensures that preventative maintenance is executed according to prescribed procedures and specifications.
- Supports the accuracy and completion of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Generates reports on request.
- Keeps accurate records of time and material chargeable to each separate job.
- Trains other associates as needed.
- Follows safety policies and maintains good housekeeping in work area.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity with good eye-hand coordination
- Prefer one to two years of related mechanical experience.
- Must be able to read blueprints and sketches.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to handle pressure and demonstrate flexibility.
- Able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills and take initiative on specific issues.
- Able to prioritize handling of situations.
- Must have a positive attitude.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting up to 40 pounds with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, pushing, pulling, and stooping.
- Working in difficult positions from ladders and elevated platforms.
- Continual walking is required.
- Associate must be able to move or roll 500-pound drums.
- Must be able to sit, listen, talk, and write.
- Must follow all GMP's as required.
- Must comply with all PPE requirements.
- Some hazardous and undesirable conditions may exist.
- May be required to work outside building on grounds or roof.
- Potential exposure to weather conditions.
- Exposure to odors, noise, dust, machinery and moving equipment
