Job summary

Philips in Latham, NY is seeking a Mechanic for the 2nd shift to operate and maintain handheld and bench-mounted power tools, fabricating and installing mechanical components for MRI systems while following safety and ESD protocols.

You will collaborate with engineering and quality teams to interpret drawings, perform precise assemblies, and document tool usage and maintenance to ensure compliance with medical-device manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with light industrial or home improvement work.
• Experience with soldering, wiring, fabrication, or general warehouse tasks.

Mechanic - 2nd Shift

This is an excellent opportunity to be a key player at our Latham, New York facility where we manufacture magnets for MRI machines.

Your role: Operate and maintain handheld and bench-mounted power tools (e.g., drills, riveters, torque drivers, grinders) to accurately fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical components for MRI systems while following safety and ESD protocols. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to interpret technical drawings, perform precise assemblies, and document tool usage and maintenance to ensure compliance with medical-device manufacturing standards.

You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Production/Assembler position.

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• You have experience with light industrial or home improvement work.
• You have worked with soldering, wiring, fabrication or in a general warehouse setting.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. This is an onsite role on 2nd shift.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in New York is $15.00 to $23.00 per hour. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives, may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.
