Beacon Mobility in New Mexico is seeking a skilled Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain school buses and related fleet vehicles to ensure safe, reliable transportation.

You will perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and timely repairs, keep accurate service records, and coordinate with drivers and staff. CDL endorsements are preferred; valid license required, and duties may include on-site maintenance duties at the district's operations facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of bus, diesel, automotive, fleet, truck, or heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension and preventive maintenance.
• Valid driver's license; CDL with School Bus and Passenger endorsements preferred or obtainable within a specified timeframe.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on school buses, support vehicles, and transportation equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, suspension, heating, and engine-related issues.
• Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure vehicles meet federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Communicate with drivers and transportation staff regarding vehicle performance concerns and maintenance needs.
• Complete work orders, inspection reports, maintenance records, and repair documentation accurately and timely.
• Respond to road calls, emergency repairs, and vehicle breakdowns as needed.
• Maintain shop tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Follow district policies, maintenance procedures, and workplace safety standards.
• Participate in required technical and safety training.
• Support transportation operations and perform other duties as assigned.

STS New Mexico LLCThe Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining school buses and other district vehicles to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient transportation operations.
