Clean Harbors Sanford, NC is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to maintain and repair the company fleet with safety as a priority. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, inspections, and on-site procedures in a busy yard.

You will perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and assist drivers with vehicle issues, using company facilities and PPE. This position offers growth within a safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience.
• Must provide own basic tools.
• Related mechanical certifications preferred.
• Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring Health and Safety is the priority by following safe work practices and policies.
• Move company equipment safely on yard as needed.
• Assist drivers with addressing vehicle issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and battery checks.
• Complete daily checklist as required.
• Ensure equipment is properly parked/secured in compliance with DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility via housekeeping duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Clean Harbors Sanford, NC is looking for a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to join their safety conscious team! This position will be responsible for the repairs and preventative maintenance of all company owned fleet. Hours will be 11:30am-8pm.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Move company equipment safely on yard as needed;
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues;
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment;
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, vehicles, and machinery;
• Complete daily checklist as required
• Assure that Equipment is properly parked/secured in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility via housekeeping duties
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
