A premier auto auction group located in Moncks Corner, South Carolina is seeking a skilled mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on various vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience, ideally in an auction or dealership setting. Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical experience required, preferably in an auction, dealership, or fleet environment.
• ASE Certified and/or EV Experience is desirable.
• Ability to handle various vehicle types and conditions efficiently.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles effectively using computerized equipment.
• Perform mechanical inspections and necessary repairs on auction vehicles.
• Collaborate with teams to prepare vehicles for sale, ensuring quality.
• Assist with preparing vehicles for sale including quick fixes and test drives.
• Collaborate with inspection and reconditioning teams to meet deadlines.
• Keep repair documentation clear and complete.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

A mechanic’s job involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles or equipment through tasks like oil changes, brake fixes, and engine work. It also includes using diagnostic tools and physical skills to solve mechanical and electrical problems, ensuring safety and performance, and communicating issues to customers while keeping detailed records. Mechanics handle routine maintenance, complex repairs, and sometimes custom work on vehicles.

What You Will Do

• Use computerized equipment and experience to identify vehicle problems.
• Perform mechanical inspections and basic to moderate repairs on auction vehicles
• Diagnose drivability issues, safety concerns, and mechanical failures
• Assist with preparing vehicles for sale—including quick fixes and test drives
• Collaborate with the inspection and reconditioning teams to meet deadlines
• Keep repair documentation clear and complete.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• 2+ years of mechanical experience required (auction, dealership, or fleet a big plus!)
• ASE Certified and/or EV Experience
• Ability to work with a wide range of vehicle types, years, and conditions
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• A strong work ethic, team mindset, and pride in your craft
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be at least 21 years of age

Those working in this position are subject to temperature changes, all types of weather conditions, fast‑paced environment, elevated noise levels and at times fumes and odors associated with vehicle exhaust at times.
