Job summary

Jensen Landscape Services, based in Milpitas, CA, is seeking an experienced mechanic to service a range of arbor and landscape equipment. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium-duty trucks and specialized equipment, with a focus on safety and cost-effective practices.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience, proficiency with diagnostics software, and a valid Driver's License (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience on medium duty trucks and arbor equipment.
• Experience with engine repairs on International, Cummins, Cat, etc.
• Proficient in using computer diagnostics software to pinpoint engine/hydraulic/electrical issues.
• Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred) and ability to meet driver eligibility guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Work with Project and Fleet Managers to assess equipment needs and repairs.
• Monitor and schedule preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain and report on repairs and maintenance including parts and labor time.
• Stay within monthly and yearly shop budgets.
• Perform mechanical work using hand and power tools safely.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and support fleet maintenance.
• Operate service truck for repairs outside shop when needed.
• General shop and office upkeep.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Description

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with Project and Fleet Managers to assess equipment needs and repair problems by using the most cost-effective practices.
• Monitor and schedule preventative maintenance and repair operations.
• Maintain and provide a report of all repairs and maintenance actions including parts and labor time on each piece of equipment.
• Stay within monthly and yearly shop budgets.
• Perform mechanical work using conventional hand and power tools in a safe and productive manner.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and work to proactively maintain fleet and equipment.
• Run equipment and service truck for truck / equipment repairs outside of shop and facility needs.
• General shop and office upkeep.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate would possess the following -

• The ideal candidate for this position will have over 5 years of experience working on medium duty trucks, along with arbor specific equipment.
• Experience with equipment including aerial equipment , wood chippers, skid steers, dingo’s, back pack blowers, ATVs, UTVs, etc.
• They will have strong experience with engine repairs on International, Cummins, Cat, etc.
• The ideal candidate will also be very proficient in using computer diagnostics software to pinpoint engine, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic issues.
• Must be able to manage workload in warm weather for long hours at times.
• Must be able to order parts as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of arbor equipment & small equipment including aerial lifts, wood chippers, skid steers, dingo’s, backpack blowers, string trimmers, ATVs, UTVs, etc.
• Knowledge of aerial lifts, wood chippers and safe operating procedures.
• Strong conflict resolution and critical thinking skills.
• Efficient multi-tasking ability.
• Basic computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications and internal computer programs.
• A valid Driver's License (CDL preferred) and ability to meet company guidelines for driver eligibility.

Pay range: $28.00 - $38.00
