Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is hiring a Mechanic to cut, assemble, fabricate, and test gear reducers, motors, hoses, and shafting per production orders. You will participate in continuous improvement projects and training opportunities while maintaining an orderly, safe shop environment.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, picking components, receiving and shipping parts, and reducing downtime through standardization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Power transmission and fluid power training is a plus.
• Must be comfortable working with computers.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders, specifications, and bill of materials to assemble components.
• Receive and ship parts and assemblies as needed.
• Select and inspect inventory to assemble reducers, shafting, and hoses per specs.
• Assemble gearing, hose, and shafting to customer specs and quality standards.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and proper receiving.
• Keep the work area clean and safe; support downtime reduction and standardization.

Mechanic – Responsibilities

As a Mechanic, your duties will be to cut, assemble, fabricate, and test gear reducers, motors, industrial and hydraulic hoses and components, and linear shafting. You will work from a predetermined production order and pick the necessary components to assemble and complete the assigned job. Other duties include active involvement in operational excellence through continuous improvement projects, on the job training, schools, and online classes.

• Reviews work orders, customer specifications, manufacturer catalogs, bill of materials, and specifications written and/or verbally by customer and/or manufacturer.
• Receives and ships parts and assemblies.
• Picks and visually checks inventory to assemble reducers, shafting, and hose for proper functioning, identification, and adherence to customer specifications.
• Assembles gearing, hose, and/or shafting to customer specifications and quality expectations.
• Maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counting and proper receiving methods.
• Maintains a clean working environment.
• Reduces complexity, drives standardization in data and processes, delivers on customer expectations, and eliminates downtime.
• Performs regular preventative maintenance on shop equipment (e.g., oil changes, cleaning).
• Detects and reports faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions to Team Leader.

Position Requirements

• Equivalent to a high school degree.
