Job summary

zTrip KCT is seeking an experienced Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs that keep our fleet of taxis and support vehicles operating safely and reliably. You will help maximize uptime and support fast, on-demand service.

Qualifications

• Experience as automotive technician or mechanic with hands-on repair and diagnostics.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on fleet vehicles.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues.
• Repair and replace brakes, steering components, suspension systems, batteries, and other vehicle systems.
• Test-drive and inspect vehicles after repairs to verify safe operation.

Responsibilities of a Mechanic:

Vehicle Maintenance

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on fleet vehicles.
• Complete oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid services.
• Conduct safety inspections and identify maintenance concerns.
• Help maximize vehicle lifespan through proactive maintenance practices.
• Maintain compliance with company maintenance standards.

Diagnostics & Repairs

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues.
• Repair and replace brakes, steering components, suspension systems, batteries, and other vehicle systems.
• Troubleshoot engine performance concerns and vehicle faults.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify repair needs.
• Test-drive and inspect vehicles after repairs to verify safe operation.
• Complete repairs accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.

Fleet Support

• Help minimize vehicle downtime and maintain fleet readiness.
• Prioritize repair work based on operational demands.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure vehicles remain service-ready.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and maintenance records.

Shop Operations

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Properly operate and care for shop equipment and tools.
• Assist with parts inventory, ordering, and tracking.
• Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices.

Qualifications for a Mechanic:

Preferred Experience

• Experience as an Automotive Technician, Auto Mechanic, Fleet Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or related role.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
• Experience working on fleet vehicles, taxis, vans, commercial vehicles, or light-duty trucks preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience using diagnostic software and repair equipment.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• Valid driver's license required.
