Job summary

ArchKey Solutions is seeking a skilled Mechanic to perform inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of company vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation in support of field and warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4+ years of hands-on experience, strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diagnostic systems, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Occasional travel may be required to support operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience repairing and maintaining vehicles or equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diagnostic systems.
  • Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL (Class A or B) preferred or required based on vehicle type.
  • Ability to pass required background checks, motor vehicle record review, and drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company‑owned vehicles and equipment, including engines, brakes, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components in accordance with manufacturer and Company standards.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to identify safety concerns, maintenance needs, and potential failures. Documents inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately and timely.
  • Diagnoses mechanical issues using appropriate tools, equipment, and technical manuals.
  • Reports equipment defects, failures, or safety hazards promptly to the Fleet Manager.
  • Operates tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment safely and properly.
  • Maintains an organized, safe, and clean service work area.
  • Assists with parts identification, ordering, pickup, and inventory management as needed.
  • Provides guidance and direction to mechanic apprentices or less experienced team members, as assigned.
  • Attends required training, safety meetings, and departmental meetings.
  • Follows all company safety policies, DOT requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Represents the Company professionally and supports positive working relationships with internal teams.
  • Consistently make decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
  • Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  • Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high‑quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co‑workers, suppliers, and the public.

About The Position

The Mechanic is responsible for performing inspection, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of company vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation in support of field and warehouse operations. This role independently completes a wide range of mechanical services, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and supports preventative maintenance programs in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, objectives, and regulations.

Ideal Candidate
  • Experienced Mechanic: 2–4+ years of hands‑on experience repairing and maintaining vehicles, trucks, or heavy equipment, with a strong background in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Strong Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, braking, transmission, engine, and diagnostic systems, with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
  • Safety‑Focused: Strong commitment to workplace safety, DOT requirements, inspections, and maintaining equipment in a safe and reliable condition. CDL experience would be a plus.
Day In the Life
