Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a self-motivated Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This full-time role focuses on servicing trailers, vehicles, and mechanical equipment while adhering to DOT regulations and Forward Air policies.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, maintaining tools and shop, and documenting work in Maintenance Software. A valid driver's license and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Prior experience with truck, trailer, and/or vehicle repair.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate status of mechanical equipment and trailers.
• Maintain equipment according to DOT regulations.
• Perform minor trailer repairs.
• Perform tire mounting/dismounting and repairs.
• Perform minor cosmetic repairs.
• Conduct inspections of vehicles, trailers and mechanical systems to determine cost-effective maintenance or replacement.
• Keep shop and tools clean and in good working order.
• Operate diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric and air-driven tools.
• Maintain attendance and work area.
• Data entry in Maintenance Software to track repairs.

Job Description:

Forward Air is looking for a self-motivated individual to join the maintenance team as a full-time Trailer Mechanic. Duties include maintaining all aspects of vehicles, trailers, and other mechanical equipment of Forward Air. This individual will be expected to do this while adhering to the compliance of all FA Policies, safe work practices, and maintaining high customer service.
