Job summary

XTRA Lease is seeking a Trailer Mechanic in Fontana, CA. If you have at least one year of trailer and brake experience, a valid license, and own your tools, this role could be a strong fit. Base pay is $33.80/hr with overtime eligibility.

Our Trailer Mechanic position could be just the spot to start your career with XTRA Lease. If you have at least one year of experience working on trailers and brakes, possess a valid and current driver's license, and own your own tools, this job could be a good fit for you.

As a Trailer Mechanic, your typical day would include:

• Diagnosing, servicing, and repairing all XTRA Lease equipment as indicated on repair orders and consistent with XTRA Lease repair standards.
• Performing safety and legally required inspections (FHWA/BIT).
• Maintaining parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working specifically on trailers
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working on brakes
• Must be qualified to complete FHWA inspections
• Must have a valid and current driver's license

As a Trailer Mechanic, you'll need one year of trailer repair experience to complete FHWA inspections consistent with the Department of Transportation requirements. The people who succeed as Trailer Mechanics have knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems as well as general knowledge of mechanical operation and body repair. Base Salary: $33.80/hr (high cost-of-living adjustment)- paid as hourly rate with overtime eligibility.

Other compensation may include, but is not limited to, commissions pay, referral bonuses, relocation assistance, and tuition reimbursement opportunity.
