OVERVIEW:
The Mechanic is responsible for general maintenance and repair of facility equipment and systems. This position requires practical skill and knowledge in such trades as HVAC, plumbing, general mechanical maintenance procedures, basic refrigeration, and basic electricity.Associates in this rolewill perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment such as motors, conveyors, mechanical components or electrical wiring and electrical components for production equipment and related systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate will frequently walk; reach with hands and arms and maneuver around work area throughout the shift. The associate may also spend a great deal of time sitting, squatting, reaching (at times above head) and using hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel. The Associate is occasionally required to balance, stoop and bends regularly to move/lift material or equipment (typically 50 lbs. or less).
The ability to hear and see with vision abilities in close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

Manufacturing / Production Floor: While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate however there may be areas designated as Hearing Protection required and provided earplugs are mandatory in those areas. Mechanics may also be required to work in confined spaces, roofs and at ceiling height levels.
Not all areas of the plant and warehouse are climate controlled and exposure to heat and/or cold can occur. In addition, when outside work is required, exposure to extreme heat or cold can occur. The Associate is frequently exposed to dust and floating particles used in the manufacturing, storage and inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
