Job summary

United Pipeline Systems in Farmington, NM is seeking a Mechanic to maintain and repair fleet vehicles, diagnose issues, and perform test drives to ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires 2+ years of mechanic or fleet maintenance experience, proficiency with hand/tools and diagnostic equipment, and a valid driver's license. CDL/ASE experience is a plus; heavy equipment skills are welcome.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles, both in the shop and during road service calls.
• Assess vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic testing to identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning parts.
• Identify and correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, subassemblies, components, parts, or systems.
• Verify vehicle performance and operational safety by conducting test drives and adjusting vehicle controls and systems as needed.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle regulations by testing engines, safety systems, and combustion/emissions control standards.

Job Description

As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles, identifying mechanical issues through inspections and diagnostics, completing repairs and test drives, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Compensation

$23.00-$35.00 per hour, depending on experience.

• Ability to work independently and safely.
• Ability to perform shop and road service repairs as needed.
• Heavy equipment, welding, CDL, or ASE experience is a plus.

Safety and Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, or reach for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, or moving equipment.
• Ability to wear required PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel‑toe footwear.
• Ability to climb ladders or access elevated work areas when needed.
