Job summary

St. Elizabeth HealthCare in Edgewood, KY, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support patient care by keeping mechanical equipment and systems reliable during the 3rd shift, 40 hours per week.

You will troubleshoot and repair medical gas, plumbing, water/steam, sprinkler and kitchen equipment, assist with utility shutdowns, and coordinate with plumbers, electricians and others to insure safety and equipment history is accurately documented.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma required.
  • Trade school diploma in related field or equivalent.
  • 3 years institutional building/maintenance/mechanical experience.
  • 5 years of applicable building/maintenance experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical equipment to ensure reliable operation.
  • Maintain systems including Medical Gas, Plumbing, Water/Steam, Sprinkler, Kitchen and SPD Equipment.
  • Assist in coordination of utility shutdowns within Maintenance Group’s area.
  • Complete work tickets and document equipment history and costs.
  • Interact professionally with staff, patients and visitors while maintaining safety.

Job Summary

To support the patient care environment by providing emergency, correction and scheduled services on the mechanical equipment and systems of the facility to assure equipment availability to perform it's intended function reliably.

Job Description

Perform troubleshooting and repairs including major overhauls to major and minor equipment to assure reliable equipment to perform its intended function. Systems equipment includes:

  • Medical Gas systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Water and Steam systems
  • Sprinkler Systems
  • Kitchen Equipment
  • SPD Equipment
  • Assist in coordination and execution of utility shutdowns of piping systems that are in the Maintenance Group’s area of responsibility.
  • Participate in the maintenance and repair of other buildings systems and equipment by assisting other technicians such as plumbers, electricians, electronic technicians and others in their activities.
  • Complete work tickets thoroughly and according to departmental procedure to insure accurate records to equipment history, project documentation, cost data and other maintenance activities.
  • Interact positively and courteously with staff, patients and visitors while providing maintenance activities to instill confidence in our guests that problems are addressed competently and promptly.
  • Assure personal safety and the safety of others by safe use of tools and materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Credentials, Licenses
  • HS diploma
  • Trade school diploma in related fieldOR
  • 5 years of applicable building/maintenance experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that will meet SEHC insurance requirements.
Specialized Knowledge
  • Fans, compressors, motors, bearings, valves, pumps, conveyors, or similar machinery/equipment types.
Kind and Length of Experience
  • 3 years institutional building/maintenance/mechanical experience
