Job summary

WM J Cassidy Tire & Auto Supply LLC in Chicago is seeking an Automotive Mechanic Technician to diagnose and manage repairs for cars and light-trucks, including luxury imports. You will promote quality service and high standards, working closely with the Store Manager.

Responsibilities include test-driving vehicles, diagnosing systems with diagnostic tools, completing repairs to manufacturer specs, and providing time estimates. 40-hour work week, competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a mechanic required.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and repair brakes, front end, suspension, and related systems on cars, light trucks, and luxury imports.

Responsibilities

• Test-drive vehicles and test components using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including brakes, front end, suspension, and alignments.
• Communicate with the Store Manager to inform customers about additional service needs.
• Provide time estimates for repairs.
• Perform repairs under warranty according to manufacturer specifications.

Objective

We are looking for a competent Automotive Mechanic Technician. This person will be responsible for diagnosing work for car and light-truck vehicles (including luxury imports), managing the tasks to be done, ensuring the work is done to our standards. As a Technician this person will be responsible for promoting a culture of quality and superior customer service.

Responsibilities

Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.

Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including brakes, front end, suspension, alignments, and flushes.

Communicating directly with the Store Manager, so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed.

Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.

Executing repairs under warranty according to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

3+ years as a mechanic required

ASE certification preferred

Ability to diagnose and do the repairs for all types of vehicles (cars, light trucks, luxury imports) for the following issues: brakes, flushes, front end, suspension and flushes required.

Ability to work with a variety of tools.

Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) required.

Results driven individual who is proactive and very detail oriented required.

Strong team player that interacts well with others required.

Proficiency in English (written and verbal skills) required.

Ability to work 40 hours a week.
