Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Mechanic in Boston to perform general maintenance and repair duties, assist with office moves, and respond to tenant requests while maintaining strong customer relations. The pay is $30.00 per hour, with offers varying by experience, skills, and location.

Qualifications

• High school or technical school graduate.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
• Familiar with use of basic maintenance hand tools.
• Knowledge of Maximo BMS system a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responds in a professional, polite, and helpful manner when dealing with customers.
• Completes assigned maintenance repairs and project work on a variety of general building equipment requiring minor electrical and general building repairs.
• Assists mechanical and electrical employees and supervisors in completing assigned preventive maintenance and reactive work orders requiring, but not limited to general building maintenance craft skills.
• Completes preventive and reactive maintenance assignments requiring only very basic skills.
• Completes reactive and preventive maintenance paperwork thoroughly and accurately.
• Develops basic troubleshooting skills in general building maintenance crafts.
• Assists in emergencies as needed.
• Performs call-catching duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Returns all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.
• Learns, understands, and complies with fire, safety, and other emergency practices.
• Informs supervisor of any condition observed to be unsafe.
• Learns, understands, and complies with all ABM and customer policies.
• Participates in training directed at increasing maintenance and job-related skills.

Overview

The Mechanic performs general maintenance and repair duties requiring a variety of general building maintenance skills, assists with office moves, and responds to tenant requests in such a manner as to ensure optimal customer relations.

Pay: $30.00 per hour.
