Job summary

RMS Crane and Rigging Inc. is seeking a full-time Crane/Diesel/Truck Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, forklifts, and related equipment at our Albuquerque branch.

The technician will follow safety and environmental policies and operate in compliance with State and Federal laws. Follows safety policies and works with a union environment; membership with Local 953 of the International Union of Operating Engineers is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of crane mechanic experience in diesel/trucking or heavy equipment environment preferred.
• CDL Class C license required.
• Trade school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools with up-to-date inventory; shop has a variety of specialty tools.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on cranes, forklifts, and equipment.
• Document all maintenance and repairs and file records properly.
• Demonstrate strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Lift up to 40 lbs.
• Identify and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits.
• Occasional evenings/weekends; some travel to job sites.

Pay $34.40 - $41.53 depending on experience, certifications held, and qualifications

Summary

RMS Crane and Rigging Inc. is currently seeking a full-time experienced Crane/Diesel/Truck Mechanic to help build our branch location. The technician will perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, forklifts, and other various equipment. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles. Follows all safety and environmental policies while performing job tasks. The is a union position and membership with Local 953 of the International Union of Operating Engineers is required.

Responsibilities

• Supply your own tools with up-to-date tool inventory (We have a variety of specialty tools in the shop)


• Must be able to perform scheduled maintenance cranes, forklifts, and other various equipment


• Must be able to document all maintenance and repairs performed on the equipment and file records properly.


• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality


• Ability to work with minimal supervision


• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.


• Understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits a plus


• Ability to work some evenings and weekends at the shop or in the field. Some travel is required.


• Must be able to verbally communicate Safety issues to Customers and co-workers on location before and during job task.


• Reports to Supervisor and/or Lead Mechanic on completion of assigned job task for next assignment.


• Hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical crane troubleshooting.


• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.


• At least (2) year experience as a crane mechanic in a diesel trucking or heavy equipment environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.


• Ability to safely lift over 40 lbs.


• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.


• Trade school diploma preferred.


• Must have a current CDL class C Driver’s License.
