Job Summary

Your responsibility is to assess vehicles in need of repair and work closely with the Senior Auto Mechanic to gain independence in your role.

Job Responsibilities
  • Test drive vehicles and test components and systems.
  • Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
  • Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
  • Examine vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions.
  • Align vehicles' front ends.
  • Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as power, steering, and linkages.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined: belts, hoses, steering, spark plugs, brakes, fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
  • Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear.
  • Perform other relevant duties as they arise.

  • Repair, replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
  • Service vehicles to maintain functionality.
