Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Meat Clerk to prepare and display meat items to meet company standards and policies. You will wait on customers, assist them in finding products, and uphold health, safety, and sanitation rules in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities include ensuring fresh, rotated merchandise, keeping areas clean and organized, and collaborating with team members to deliver friendly, prompt service while following dress code and all applicable laws and policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum12+ months experience in meat or food preparation.
• Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Able to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
• Operate meat department tools and equipment safely.
• Must work safely with cleaning solutions and maintain sanitation.
• Team-oriented with positive customer interactions.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and workplace policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and display merchandise in a neat, efficient, orderly manner.
• Check product quality; ensure freshness and proper rotation.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
• Keep carts, tools, and supplies in designated areas and tidy.
• Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
• Provide good customer and associate relations.
• Wash and sanitize equipment per company and Health Dept. policies.
• Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
• Communicate effectively with customers and associates.
• Wait on customers promptly and assist in finding products.
• Follow all laws and company/state requirements; maintain cleanliness.
• Adhere to dress code, grooming, sanitation, and harassment policies.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely per policies.
• Perform any and all duties as assigned.
