Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old due to operation of Meat & Seafood equipment.
• Prior experience with meat cutting is required, with ability to meet yield and proficiency standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions, priorities and circumstances.
• Ability to solve problems and make independent decisions regarding department needs and priorities.
• Strong knowledge of local and state health, sanitation and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers in the Meat & Seafood Department while modeling Sendik’s culture and providing exceptional service.
• Provide timely and friendly assistance when answering questions and making suggestions.
• Prepare Top Shelf items for the Meat and Seafood case (kabobs, marinades, gourmet burgers).
• Grind meat according to the daily production schedule.
• Cut pork, chicken and poultry portions as per plan; beef as needed.
• Maintain grind and sanitation logs and ensure quality and freshness.
• Operate, maintain and clean Meat & Seafood equipment (knives, grinder, saw, coolers).
• Assist with training and mentoring of new associates.
