Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Meat & Seafood Department Lead to support the Department Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience. You will lead with care, coach team members, and ensure the department looks its best while solving problems and stepping in as acting manager when needed.

You will work closely with your team and fellow leaders to drive store success, monitor labor and inventory, and utilize technology to achieve goals in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business.
• Strong leadership and guest service skills, with a focus on teamwork and performance.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Help monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and support ordering processes.
• Act as a resource for team members in the manager’s absence.
• Model hospitality by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Help implement merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
• Analyze department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with department leaders to drive store success.
• Leverage available technology to perform tasks.
