Job summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a department leader for the meat/seafood area in South Portland, ME. You will supervise the department in the absence of the manager, ensure policy compliance, and utilize store systems for planning and scheduling. Emphasis on teamwork, product knowledge, and training others.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety and sanitation standards, assisting in training, and upholding high customer-service and merchandising quality in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Lead and direct others within the department.
• Meat cutter experience preferred.
• Effective communication, customer service and selling skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead department operations in the absence of the department manager according to standards.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Use store systems for planning, scheduling, CAO and RF unit.
• Maintain fair, respectful treatment of co-workers.
• Meet or exceed Management Planning guidelines.
• Develop product knowledge in meat/seafood and cooking procedures.
• Assist in training other associates when assigned.
• Maintain neat personal appearance and adhere to appearance policy.
• Maintain communication across department and organization.
• Support safety standards and report repairs or hazards.
• Observe sanitation and food safety standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
