Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior Food Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Prior Meat cutting/butchering experience preferred but not required.
• Basic math skills, with the ability to read and write.

Responsibilities

• This position is responsible for converting live animals into carcasses ready for processing.
• Performs slaughtering and butchering task in slaughtering and meat packing establishments.
• Use cutting tools, such as knives, saws, and mechanical knives to break down carcasses.
• Follow PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safety protocols.
• Maintain food quality and GMP standards.
• Participate in knife sharpening and stretching program.
• Aim to maintain efficiency per plant metrics (Head Count and Yield).
• Learn humane slaughter and USDA standards in coordination with regulatory guidelines.
• All other duties as assigned.
